Description
MIKROSHA-3000 mini induction melting furnace is a generator unit of MIKROSHA-3000 induction heating complete with a melting unit. Mini-furnace is designed to melt non-ferrous metals and their alloys in a graphite crucible to eliminate the reaction between the molten metal and crucible material. Graphite is neutral to non-ferrous metals, unlike ferrous metals that absorb carbon from the crucible material. MIKROSHA-3000 in a graphite crucible allows to develop temperature of more than 1300°C. С. The operating principle is based on creating eddy currents in the heated part, and since graphite behaves similarly to metal, being heated in the inductor field, it allows to melt non-magnetic metals in the crucible. The power of the furnace to the crucible depends on the grade of graphite and the thickness of the insulation between the inductor and the crucible. The thicker the insulation, the less heating, but also less heat loss. The thinner it is, the more energy is spent on boiling water in the inductor tube.
The internal dimensions of our crucible are 38 mm in diameter and 70 mm in height. Thus, the internal volume is 79 ml. With a density of 999 gold at 19.3 g/cc, the crucible's capacity for gold is 1.5 kG, and for copper is 0.7 kG. The crucible is insulated with ceramic fiber material.
